Meet Dr. Sarah T. Silverstein
Dr. Sarah Silverstein is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and San Diego native. She is an alumna of Patrick Henry High School. After graduating, she attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and obtained a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. Dr. Silverstein went on to attend dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, Arizona. While there, she did community rotations at clinics in Montana, Alaska, Phoenix, and Maine. Following dental school, Dr. Silverstein completed a General Practice Residency at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). While there, she treated special needs patients both in the hospital and in a dental clinical setting. Dr. Silverstein completed her Pediatric Dental Specialty training at the University of Southern California (USC) and then decided to move back home to San Diego to start her career.
Dr. Silverstein enjoys volunteering her time. She has volunteered onboard the U.S. Navy’s two hospital ships, the USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy, to provide care in underserved countries alongside the U.S. Navy. She also is a Voluntary Clinical Instructor for the UCSD Student Run Free-Dental Clinic project, which provides care to underserved communities in San Diego. Dr. Silverstein is a Board Member of the San Diego County Dental Society. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society for Pediatric Dentistry, and was recently inducted as a Fellow with the International College of Dentists.
In her free time, Dr. Silverstein enjoys reading, watching movies and TV shows, going to Padres games, and exploring San Diego with her husband, twin boys, and daughter.

Sedation dentistry refers to the use of sedation during dental treatment. Sedation is most commonly used during extensive procedures, for patients with dental phobia or for patients who find it difficult to sit still. Our office provides a variety of options that can be discussed at your visit.
